Since Matt hates being the one to cancel meetings, I'll go ahead and
do so. With many participants missing and Flock next week I doubt we
were going to cover much today anyway.

meeting on monday
by Matthew Miller
Hi everyone! I'll finally be back for the council meeting on Monday. I
had that as "Subproject report (tbd)", but I never scheduled the tbd,
and think maybe we should make it "ongoing tickets and items". Are
there particular things you all see as important right now? We only
have two meetings before Flock!

Re: [council] #62: Fedora Security: possible trademark violation
by Josh Berkus
Council,
Whether or not Fedora Security is a trademark violation is a question
for an attorney.
If it is (and it certainly looks like it to me given the logo), my
assessment is that the Fedora Security company is a 3-4 person
independant consulting shop, and possibly no longer in business. As
such, a single C&D letter is all that should be required.

Invitation to the FOSCo brainstorm meeting 2016-07-18 13:00 UTC
by Christoph Wickert
Hi everybody,
for quite some time now, Fedora has been discussing the idea of FOSCo,
the Fedora Outreach Steering Committee, a body to coordinate all our
outreach efforts. Now it's time to make it happen!
On behalf of FAmSCo and the Fedora Council, I'd like to invite all of
you to an all-hands
FOSCo brainstorm meeting on
Monday, August 18th at 13:00 UTC
in #fedora-council on freenode
So far, the following participants have confirmed attendance:
* Ambassadors: cwickert, giannisk, gnokii, mailga, potty, tuanta
* Council: mattdm
* Design team: gnokii
* Marketing: jflory7
* CommOps: jflory7
* Websites: mailga
* Docs: zoglesby
* g11n: noriko
The fact that we already have a good team of volunteers should not
stop you from attending, in fact, we would like to hear more voices
from all stakeholders. The more, the better!
To get an idea what FAmSCo has been working on so far, please have a look at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FOSCo and
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FOSCo_status
None of this is set in stone yet, and we feel we need your input
before we go any further. We are looking forward to your input and to
meet you next Monday!
Best regards,
Christoph

FOSCo progress
by Christoph Wickert
Hi,
I'm happy to report progress regarding FOSCo, the Fedora Outreach
Steering Committee.
1. We set up two wiki pages at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FOSCo
and https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FOSCo_status
2. We have a representatives form all relevant groups
* Ambassadors: cwickert and all FAmSCo members
* Design team: gnokii
* Marketing: jflory7
* CommOps: jflory7
* Websites: mailga
* Docs: zoglesby
* g11n: noriko
For now all of them just volunteered to act as a point of contact
while we bootstrap FOSCo. It's on the groups to decide whether they
will be appoint somebody else later or just confirm the current
representatives. robyduck has already volunteered to take over
websites (he's just really busy atm) and noriko has indicated to step
down at some point later.
3. We were able to schedule a brainstorm session with all
representatives and FAmSCo members. It will take place in
#fedora-council on Monday, August 18th at 13:00 UTC. Please join us!
(I opted for #fedora-council as the other meeting channels have a
tight schedule and only would allow for a 1,5h slot.)
While we (mainly decause and me) initially set August 1st as deadline
for FAmSCo to submit a final proposal to the council, I think it is
important that we do it right and have the support from all teams,
even if it takes a while. I'm confident that we can work something out
for or during FLOCK and then we are basically back to the schedule we
planned.
Best regards,
Christoph
