In a previous email[1], we mentioned that the next stream has moved to
cgroups v2 for new nodes. We are now at the next step of the
transition, with the testing stream moving to cgroups v2 for new nodes
in next week's release (May 31st). This in turn means that the stable
stream will also be moving to cgroups v2 in the following release week
(June 14th).
As before, if you'd like to move to cgroups v2 on existing nodes, you
may directly use `rpm-ostree kargs` as described in this example:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-coreos/kernel-args/#_removing...
While we do not recommend it, it is also possible to remain on cgroups
v1 on new nodes:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-coreos/kernel-args/#_example_...
For more information, see the upstream issue.[2]
Thanks,
Jonathan Lebon, for the Fedora CoreOS team
