Why do import snapshot and then register image? There is a import
image which takes an vmdk in a S3 bucket and creates an AMI.
I am the one who requested that the import snapshot process be used
rather than the import-image. This is a v2 API call and it was suggested
by the AWS VM Import team that we would have a better experience.
Using the import-snapshot is preferred. Registering the snapshot to the
image with the specific attributes (like ENA) independent of the import
is the preferred management process.
