I have been thinking a lot about licensing as it relates to hardware

hardware designs branch. Maybe if I come-up with something worth merging I
will make a pull request.

Thanks!
This is reminding me that I arguably owe a long-overdue HBR cure
relating to a talk I gave at the FSFE Legal Network Barcelona event in
April 2017 (which is governed by the Chatham House Rule). My talk was
titled "Towards a Post-GPL Copyleft" and for the most part discussed
copyleft-next. I think it would be an adequate abundance-of-caution
cure of that part to publish my slides. The talk didn't really say
anything I haven't already said publicly.
The other thing is that a couple of people at that event indicated
some interest in using copyleft-next for hardware designs. (I can't
identify those people because of CHR.)
