For anyone who'll be at FOSDEM, I am slated to give a talk on

I've continued to think about releasing an official version of
copyleft-next (most likely numbered 0.1.0) and might do so around the
time of FOSDEM.

Fontana,
While I wish I could join everybody in Belgium I am tied down firmly in
Ashtabula County for the time being. In contrast to Bradley's remarks
about Open Source Politicians, I'm currently having to be an
old-fashioned politician and have a nominating petition I have to
continue getting signatures secured on so I can be on the ballot in
November. I need 18 more signatures from voters in the relevant
electorate to run for one of the two seats up on the township's
governing Board of Trustees. Though my US passport is in good working
order, I don't have the funds to travel to FOSDEM but do hope there will
be audio and/or video for later download.
As to making a release...what spurred this line of thought? Why then?
Are there particular reporters going to be at the conference? Will you
have small "press kits" containing at least a press release and a
backgrounder in them that can be distributed so even non-specialist
reporters can carry out "press release journalism" by just re-writing
the press release?
If there is going to be an initial release we need to make sure it is a
good unveiling. There needs to be a splash. Since the currently
fabulous domestic job market leaves me with time on my hands, I can help
prepare some of this if Bradley has printing resources available via
Conservancy and can find some cheap folders at a dollar store to put
stuff in for handouts if it gets too big to be just a couple pages
stapled together.
