Hi Vasram,
Welcome to Fedora ! I am glad to know that you are interested ! Sorry for
the delayed response. I am also forwarding this to Sachin so that we can
have faster responses henceforth.
It is definitely not late to apply - and we would love to help with your
application in any way possible. If we are not on IRC, email us and we will
definitely reply soon.
This project will mainly involve statscache development and improving the
statscache docs. The final deliverables will include code development for
statscache and plugins so that it collects and stores metrics + well
written documentation.
As an initial contribution, we would love to see a few of these things - if
not all,
1. An understanding of Fedora metrics ecosystem
2. An understanding of statscache code
3. Try deploying a local instance of statscache
4. Optional, Build a basic plugin in statscache for eg. which just records
how many messages are emitted by fedmsg daily.
Please do write a blog post on whatever you learb and how you went about
doing this including any issues you faced, and how you resolved them - so
that it helps us understand the process as mentors. It is very important
that your GSoC proposal has a well-defined timeline so please work with us
on developing it once you have a general understanding of statscache and
how much time you require to progress with it.
Hope this helps and feel free to ask questions,
Best,
Bee

Hello!
Sorry to pester you, but the GSoC deadline is fast approaching and I could
really use some feedback on my ideas. This is a great opportunity that I do
not want to miss at all!
Can you kindly review my last email?
Thank you,
Vasram
