Hello!
What is the meaning of registering a system? Can't find any documentation about that.
What is expected to be filled in activation-key and username and password to register a system? I authenticate to a secondary system with ssh authorized key.
Thank you!
Kind regards
Andreas
Hi! This is your RHEL subscription and is only valid if you're on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux system. Once your system is registered, you are able to get security updates and bugfixes from Red Hat. https://www.redhat.com/en/resources/Linux-rhel-subscription-guide
If you are on another distro, such as Fedora, it doesn't do much and you can ignore it. It's not needed for getting updates. You can remove the subscription-manager-cockpit package and it will go away from the sidebar. - Andreas
