Management Agent Question for Centos 6.x Servers
by Donald DAvanzo
Hello
I have a question regarding the management agent needed for Fedora 21
Cockpit to monitor / manage Centos 6.x servers.
1) Are there any available; all I seem to be able to find are Centos 7 rpms
2) If no management agent rpms are available has anyone had any success
compiling them from source to work with Centos 6.x
I ask only cause we would like to use Cockpit in our cloud as our
centralized management / monitoring tool, but many of our clients servers
are Centos 6.x based.
Thank you
Regards
Donald

New jquery-amend repo
by Stef Walter
As we discussed on Monday, I added the jquery-amend plugin to its own
repo here:
https://github.com/cockpit-project/jquery-amend
This is a jQuery plugin that smoothly amends a DOM with possibly updated
HTML, rather than just replace it outright.
Instead of:
$('#my-el').html(html_string);
You do:
$('#my-id').amend(html_string);
This solves some minimal annoyances such not unnecessarily blowing away
user interaction state, such as highlighting links, open drop downs, or
scroll position.
Marius did some more work to optionally use key based correlation.
That's not in here yet. But it makes sense to include it once it's ready.

Any Arch Linux users out there?
by Andreas Nilsson
Hi!
Just before the holidays I did some changes to the project website, and
among other things added a Try it Out page with detailed instructions
for how to get Cockpit running on different distributions
http://cockpit-project.org/running.html
One thing was unresolved was the instructions for how to get it running
on Arch Linux. As far as I am aware, Cockpit is available for Arch, but
I'm not familiar enough with Arch myself to fill those instructions out.
If there are any more seasoned Arch users out there, any help fixing
this issue would be highly appreciated.
