Hey all,

Not to be scary or anything, but here's a short message from your interim leader.

I'm looking to make ownership of Cobbler more democratic.  In short, I'm wanting to disappear and let someone else take Cobbler in whatever direction they would like to take it -- not having the need to use it everyday means I'm not really in the mode to test and fix things, which is holding us back.

We have made progress in opening things up on github and making a better environment for people to more easily contribute, but there is more to do.

Namely we have to fix bugs.  People assume I'm going to fix them, and I don't… and as a result, they do not get fixed.   OSS is not really  "community please help" sort of thing, it takes people to drive and do a large amount of work.   I knew this, but … well, I've confirmed it more.   We need drivers.

If you are interested and have shown your worth in patches, let me know.    Many companies would be glad to own/sponsor this sort of thing if it drives their infrastructure, so don't think of it as necessarily just a evening/weekends sort of thing -- ask your boss, and maybe this can even be a part of your day job!

I'm going to keep ownership of the github organization and list (at least for now), but would like to see other people take over and drive.

The keys may be yours, if you're the right person.   Honor, glory, infamy!   Just say the word -- Email me off list please.   Cobbler is being used at absolutely amazing places you might not even expect, and this is your chance to own a piece of a very large infrastructure project.

It will have a great future ahead of it.   Time to change the guard!   The future is so bright I've gotta wear shades!  Onward and upward!  Oh, the places we can go.  Etc.
