Oh cool, I didn't see jmaas had merged that into devel. I'll need to update the signatures file on the website then so it's available via the signature update CLI command.

I can't speak to 5.1u1, but for 5.5 you need to use the esxi55 signature of the vmware breed, which I think is only in git right now.  Unfortunately it's not enough to only update the signatures file, you also need the template file for 5.5.  I was actually planning to submit a patch that minimizes the number of templates for ESXi, but that would still need to be updated alongside the signatures file updates.
