I never managed to get this working either - I ended up adding a %post line in the kickstart file:

echo "MTU=9000" >> /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1


If you do get this working (ie it is supported) then I would love to know how you got it to work.

ipv4 and ipv6 mtu should be included in Cobbler 2.1.
