dhcp.conf template and hostname
by Fabien Dupont
Hi all.
I use a default cobbler installation with no personal snippets or tempates
and when I use '--hostname' while creating a new system, dhcpd doesn't
restart when syncing. /var/log/messages and a bit of RTFM told me the
declaration 'hostname toto;' is not a valid option in a host field ; it
should be 'option host-name "toto";' instead. Thus, I looked for a guilty
file and found out it is /etc/cobbler/dhcp.template (I'm using cobbler
1.6.3). A little change in this file and 'cobbler sync' worked again.
I know it's a template, and therefore is made to be customised but the
default template may be right, not to frighten newbies...
Should I file a bug report for a template ?
