Cobbler - In The Secure Environment..
by Brown, Scott D CTR, E2
Good morning to everyone. Over the last few months, I've been testing
out how cobbler can work for us in a secure environment. Because I can
not connect to an outside network with my Linux boxes, I needed a way to
keep up with updates and patches. After doing multiple trial runs with
cobbler everything seems to be coming together. The only question I
have is this:
Once I do a " cobbler reposync " to refresh any new updates, can I just
take the directory of the repo that was just updated and copy it to my
'inside' cobbler server that I have setup. The 'inside' cobbler server
is an exact duplicate of the 'outside' one that is connected to the
Internet, including the exact directory structure. I'm not sure if
after copying the files over to the 'inside' server if I need to do a
'cobbler' command that will refresh any cache's or if by just replacing
the files the inside machines will get the new updates. Hope this isn't
too confusing. Thanks for the help.....
