Hi Joshua,
cloud-init-0.6.3-0.9.bzr532.el5 exists in EPEL5, it uses python26 from
EPEL5.

No idea. That was pre-provisioned onto the machines for the lab. I'm
constantly looking for up-to-date images. I know that there are CirrOS
images on Dan berenger's page. Find the link from here:

This is, I think, an error that happens for a couple reasons. It is
kind of poor failure mode, as something else has failed upstream, then
been ignored until this point. It is possible that your
endpoint/service definitions are messed up for your keystone server. I
saw this on devstack installes due to permissions problems, but likely
not the case here. There is also a possibility that you have an
out-of-date Keystone client in your tree, perhaps due to previous
devstack or pip type installs.

Deprecation warnings are fine for now. It means that things are going
to go away in the future. I can't tell you more precisely without
seeing more what the errors are.

openstack-essex with CentOS 6.3
by Vogel Nicolas
Hello everybody,
I'm trying to install openstack-essex on a CentOS 6.3 platform.
I'm using the official document from the openstack website (last version from 17. Of Juli 2012) but I'm experiencing lots of problems by installating glance and nova.
I'm looking for someone who could help me to achieve a complete installation. If someone could send me his/her ntp.conf, nova.conf and keystone.conf files I could compare them with mine.
And if someone has his own install-doc it will be very helpful for me.
I already tried to make the installation with following doc "getting started with Openstack EPEL - Fedoraproject".
Thanks,
Nicolas Vogel

Fedora 18 Feature: OpenShift Origin might slip
by Adam Miller
Hello all,
I had found some volunteers last Friday to review the rest of the
packages needed for our feature for Fedora 18 but it would appear they
didn't come through and I haven't been able to reach them online today
so I'm *really* hoping some folks have spare cycles and I can beg them
for package reviews. We came down to the wire and this is likely mostly
a flub on our end for not bugging/begging folks sooner but if anyone can
even help with just one it would be much appreciated.
I'll be around as much as possible tonight and will certainly be around
tomorrow morning and through out the day to handle any package updates
needed for my packages (maxamillion) and tdawson's since he's out of
town.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/OpenShift_Origin#Packaging_Status
Feel free to ping me on irc: maxamillion
Many thanks,

Bug in F16 when trying to make JEOS images - solution inside
by Steven Dake
Hi,
F16 was shipped with the updates-testing repo enabled. This makes
creating JEOS images a real pain, as some of the packages may come from
updates-testing until fedora-release is updated.
When making a JEOS for F16, I'd recommend
yum -y update fedora-release
This will install the proper yum repos without updates-testing enabled.
This can be followed by any necessary JEOS operations.

OpenStack heads up - rootwrap changes in Folsom
by Mark McLoughlin
Hey,
There's been a couple of big changes to rootwrap in Folsom which will
affect the packaging:
https://review.openstack.org/8747 (was in folsom-2)
https://review.openstack.org/10646 (will be in folsom-3)
Packaging changes:
* sudoers file should allow "nova-rootwrap /etc/nova/rootwrap.conf *"
* Need to package /etc/nova/rootwrap.conf
* Package the filters in /usr/share/nova/rootwrap
* In folsom-2, we need root_helper updated to
include /etc/nova/rootwrap.conf as a first arg:
root_helper=sudo nova-rootwrap /etc/nova/rootwrap.conf
but in folsom-3, we want to replace the root_helper option with:
rootwrap_config=/etc/nova/rootwrap.conf
This means we have a backwards compat issue[1] - unless users update
root_helper in their existing nova.conf to include the first arg (or
remove it in favour of rootwrap_config), things will break.
I can't recall - how much of a no-no is it to try and fix up user config
files in %post?
Cheers,
Mark.
