Ceph

Hi folks, I spent some time today trying to get ceph updated, and I pushed 0.37 to rawhide[0]. I would like to solicit thoughts on pushing this to F16. While this fixes 5 bugs in Fedora's bug tracker (and to be fair, 2 of them are easily fixed in the current version) there are a number of bugs fixed in the 4 months since 0.31 was released. The downside - a number of binaries and libraries have changed name[1], Technically this probably runs afoul of the updates policy, but ceph appears to be a leaf package if repoquery is to be believed, and it's still on the same major version number :). It's also true that there isn't really the idea of a supported version of Ceph since it's still very rapidly in development and considered quite bleeding edge. openstack-swift

Hi folks, I know I asked for help during the meeting, but I found some time tonight to work on openstack-swift. I've tried to bring it up to 1.4.3 (Diablo) and fix a packaging bug or two in the process, and get it ready for inclusion into EPEL as well (EPEL still has 1.0.x) That said, I've done virtually zero testing on these thus far, and I am embarking on some travel in a few hours, so it will be several days before I get another chance. Please help me test this. And perhaps in the process document the procedure for getting swift running for the folks that are writing the cloud guide. Hello Friends I'm Jesus Trujillo from Mexico! I'm testing your AMI with Fedora 15 (ami-60bd4609): I'm using the amazon instance with your AMI as a Web Server. I want to upload pages and configuration files to the server, and I'm using a Graphical SSH Client to do these tasks but only I can connect with the user "ec2-user" and I have no permission to the webserver config folders. Howdy folks, It's just about meeting time. You know the scoop, but just in case (new people always welcomed!): Meeting Details: Friday, 2011/11/04 @1900 UTC (In NA - East coast, 3pm; West coast, 12pm.) Meeting channel: #fedora-meeting, irc.freenode.net (Note my intrepid ability to actually edit the date correctly today! Woohoo!) I'd like to see if anyone has taken RC4 for a spin (so to speak, hardeeharhar) on EC2 yet (Dennis posted details a few days ago), just to ensure that it is still working as expected. We're (and by we, I mean, marketing/announcements and possibly websites/get.fp.o, see my further note below) planning on announcing it on release day, so avoiding mondo disaster is usually a good idea, and it's not quite worked into Final Release Criteria Testing Stuff yet. -Robyn * I know that Max Spevack has been driving/prodding folks a bit, including websites folks, on having the AMI information available on GA day, but I sadly haven't had a ton of time to follow up on this having been doing oVirt stuff all week, when I haven't been frantically editing press releases or other things, aieeeee. Thank you, Max, for your efforts there :) And maybe we can find out during meeting time if that stuff is progressing or needs help.
