Hello,
In my box Sun java and Open JDK co-exists. My problem is, despite been able to run java softs I can't run java applet in my browser (Opera mobile emulator, Facebook photo uploader etc).
Opera is my primary browser (Version 10.60 beta) and have FireFox 3.6.4 as the second choice. Both the browsers are malfunctioning when it comes to Java.
Can anyone enlighten me?
I think, u know the answer. Either remove Sun Java or Open JDK. If still u get same problem, remove both and then install again one, either Sun Java or Open JDK. U should remove Open JDK, when u installed Sun Java.

Well, did so. Still without luck.
Let me describe my problem in details. I've installed sun java with these instruction:
http://fedorasolved.org/browser-solutions/java-i386
I did it cause at first glance I was not aware of the existence of open JDK. Then when I saw things get messed up, I went to IRC and one told me to install open JDK and added that they can co-exist. So I did it according to his suggestion. But now even if I can run Java apps I still couldn't run java applets.
Restarting didn't work. Any way to reverse the whole process to remove sun java?
Just an addition:
[Nirjhor@localhost ~]$ whereis java java: /usr/bin/java /etc/java /usr/lib/java /usr/share/java /opt/jre1.6.0_20/bin/java /usr/share/man/man1/java.1.gz [Nirjhor@localhost ~]$
1. yum remove java* 2. Check for the uninstall bin in /usr/bin/java , /etc/java , /usr/lib/java , /usr/share/java , /opt/jre1.6.0_20 3. After uninstall remove these directories, if they are still exists: /usr/bin/java , /etc/java , /usr/lib/java , /usr/share/java , /opt/jre1.6.0_20 4. Now try installing newly any1 of them.
