i don't know, whether rar is a patented format. but, we wont talk about
this type of 'cracking apps' in mailing list. which may have some legal
problem with the software license that you must accept before you use it. (

ofcourse its a publicly available mailing list. but a user one with
specific to country.
this issue should be taken as a user having problem in compiling some
software on Fedora platform.
what software he is trying to use is not of our concern.
as long as we don't get into long deliberation on those grey parts.
also, such discussion can go into BDLUG, which is more general.
