We talked about this a long time back, but since a number of us will be together in one spot at FUDCon, maybe we should revive the idea of a Fedora ARM team shirt.
- Anyone interested? - What should we put on it? We can probably get clearance for the 'Fedora' logo but not likely for the 'ARM' logo (at least in time for FUDCon), but we could probably use ARM as text. Or put the Fedora logo on the sleeve (get it? hmmm? ok, too subtle).

You could do a block diagram of a V8 chip, and say I want a v8. :)

(Fedora Logo) + ARM
We know that its how you use it that counts.

I though the issue last time was getting permission to use the logos (trademarks).

I'd be willing to contact folks at ARM if no one has already; if someone could check on the Fedora logo, that would be awesome, but it doesn't seem like it would be too hard. In time for FUDcon might be tough, tho...
In the completely silly category, I figure this should be a polo shirt, and each sleeve should have on it:
(Fedora logo)
(ARM logo)
On the back of the shirt, it says:
(Fedora logo)
BACK
On the front of the shirt, it says:
(Fedora logo)
FRONT
And somewhere, perhaps in smaller letters further down the back, it says something like this:
All Fedora All ARM All the Time
I'm also thinking I'll keep the day job and stay out of the full-time t-shirt design business :)...

The Fedora project has a couple of approved companies for making of t-shirts and other things and they know the logo guidelines process etc. I suggest once we have details of the ARM stuff we can probably ask OSAS for assistance or direction, I can ask/take the task to see if they can assist us.

On a related note, I'll ping nirik about the download page the websites team made as I have permission from ARM to use the "ARM Powered" logo on that page (only). The ARM logos come with an 18 page usage guidelines document, and it's pretty restricted what can officially use the logo. Sure, many websites and projects infringe, but we're going to dot every i and cross every t on this stuff - I have no interest in ever annoying ARM. I'll inquire about t-shirts...that will be complex.

Thanks for making sure things are dotted and crossed :-) Unfortunately it may be tight to get clearance before the end of this year. I will try my best to see what can happen.
It may be that I don't get a response until the around the 11th Jan, which is the week before FUDCon - would that be too late? Regardless I'll see what I can do so that you don't have to worry about it in the future.

I've sent email to Jeff and Philippe. Feel free to assist :)

My email to the usual ARM suspects asked both about logo and also just proper use of the "ARM" name. I suspect we can just put "ARM" somewhere, but I would like to know what the community guidelines are. And, if this needs to go in as a Connected Community thing, RH is a member of that. Whatever angle works. Appreciate the poking.
Jon.

So, actually answering your question...I don't know what Chris has in mind for printing options. I suspect we could find a local print shop in Lawrence and have something turned around pretty quickly. Actually, let me ask Rikki[0], copied, if she can let us know what local printer options there are for t-shirts in town if we needed something done within a few days? Maybe Chris or one of us will do something and take with us, but hey, let's get all of the options!

ARM are unbelievably arsey about trademarks. They had a big pile of of T-shirts shredded because the logo was printed in the wrong shade of green.

In fairness, we also have an official red, and a whole brand book that is bigger than the guidelines I received from ARM :) But the good news is that a few of us are working behind the scenes on another thread. I'll come back with an update.
Jon.
Hi Folks,
Happy New Year once again, and I hope you had a relaxing break (if you didn't get time off, I hope you nonetheless enjoyed the holidays).
I have heard from ARM that we can use the Connected Community logo on a shirt, but there are some restrictions. These include needing to get their approval on the incorporating design proof, which is not an unreasonable thing for them to ask of us. There might /just/ be time to pull off some shirts, if we were to turn this around quickly. Therefore, we will discuss this on the call today. I am copying Ruth and Robyn on this mail so that we can get their input on any printing options we might have at this late stage, if we had a final ready to go before next week. I am thinking we would not print too many shirts, so we would have various options available, including a local service.
Comments and opinions are welcome.
Jon.

Do you need someone to spend some time working on the actual design, or do we already have a design done? I might be able to get one of the design guys at work to spend some time on this if I can give him a clear picture of what we're looking for.
