At the bottom of the Page there is even Photos of the Circuit board. There is a serial header on the board, I have a link to the pin outs somewhere... I tried connecting to it with a 3.3V TTL to USB chip, but didn't have luck. Others have successes and I haven't re-visited it yet.

The last time they discounted to ~45 dollars, they introduced a new version shortly thereafter.. Is there a new version coming shortly?

Yes, I saw it from a tweet
