Hey all!
Thanks for the copy Jon. Here's where I *think* we stand so far with Fedora
15:
- I need some help in possibly automating the upstreaming of the various
pkgs with .arm modifications
What's outstanding other that the haskell patches (ghc and a number of
others), I'm upstreamed pretty much everything except those. The
releases after F-15 don't need the haskell patches and for F-15 the
haskell maintainers said they would deal with them as they were going
to bootstrap it all.
-- Where does one upstream it to and how does one then que that
upstreamed
pkg?
It depends on the package, feel free to ping directly via email or IRC
for assistance with package upstreaming.
-- And what happens if some pkg ENVR's in Koji don't match
the mainstream
ones?
They should always match, but there's a caveat.
In the case of the packages that just need an adjustment of
excludearch or exclusive arch I will build them in mainstream koji but
I won't submit it to bodhi as an update because it doesn't fix
anything on x86. But the ENVR will still be there in koji, from there
I use the build from koji (either by srpm or giturl) to build the
corresponding arm package.
- Apparently there was one build that caused a ton of failures which
dgilmore told me about
Yes, that was nss. Its a single upstream source packaged as 3
different packages due to FIPS audit requirements. Its a bit of a mess
and likely worth avoiding them. There's others in the "build tool
chain" that can affect similar issues. Might be worth excluding those
from the auto builder.
- In addition, we have to back track a bit in building some F15 for armv5
pkgs
-- When we built pkgs depending on some libraries they were linked with F13
lib pkgs
-- These pkgs don't exist now since the new F15 repo doesn't inherit the old
ones
-- Jordan is helping me in correcting this
Is there a list with the problems? In all cases these should have been
pulling in the F-14 builds where possible as its closer to F-15.
- We need to get more builders up and fix some various problems where
some
of them are constantly going down (reliability issues somewhere)
- We need more sdcards or locate some missing ones which may just be locked
away somewhere
Is there plans to split out some of the core koji hub and storage
components. I believe that is one of the biggest problems with
performance at the moment is because the hub and nfs is so loaded.
- There is a F15 build status page here (hopefully its working
correctly):
http://arm.koji.fedoraproject.org/~jchiappetta/stats.html
- I posted the source code to a simple que script I am currently using which
is here:
http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/arm/2011-November/002280.html
Is that's what's being used for the mass builds?
- Am I missing anything else important?? Let me know please and
thanks!
koji hub performance and stability :-)
