The "x86 inline assembler" sounds um fun. :)
However the other two blockers,
little endian assumptions, and 64-bit server, don't sound like blockers.
After a -quick- glance, it appears as though some of the x86
instructions are actually SSE instructions. Is there a quick(er)
cross-reference page between our various vectorization options and say
SSE?
