Builder Update
by Chris Tyler
I worked overnight on the softfp builder issues and found a problem with
swap. I've switched to swap-on-SD on 6-5 and upgraded to Dennis' latest
kernel, and both seem to be working OK. A kernel is currently building
to give a bit of stress-test
(http://arm.koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=237408).
The Seneca team will roll out these changes across at least two groups
of softfp builders in the morning.

The Update On Todays Work That We Promised
by Jon Chiappetta
I think my partner in crime messed up in posting the mailing list item we worked on as a group so here's a quick summary (chat to Chris) until he does so:
[19:49:50] <ctyler> fjon! What was the status when you guys left this evening?
[20:00:23] <fjon> well sir
[20:00:33] <fjon> i asked jordan to run lsmod on the semi-working builder
[20:00:40] <fjon> and noticed there were no kernel modules loaded
[20:00:52] <fjon> which made sense cause we just threw on the armv7hl kernel without anything else
[20:01:01] <fjon> so it didnt load those armv5 kernel modules
[20:01:12] <fjon> anyway one of them was the smsc95xx nic card
[20:01:48] <fjon> so im not sure if that solved any possible network conn issues we were having for softfp cause we also didnt have much time to test it all out
[20:02:04] <fjon> and we typed up a mailing list item about it which i thought jordan was going to post but i guess he messed up
[20:02:33] <fjon> so ya, the job for tom is to semi-test the softfp image with the armv7hl kernel/modules and see if it survives and if so then deploy them as much as possible
[20:03:02] <fjon> i believe if im correct that is
[20:04:20] <fjon> let me know if you got the msgs above ^^^
[20:04:36] <fjon> i know u have ur little irc inside a vnc setup so u probably will
[20:05:17] <fjon> you should really just write your own multi-client but single connection irc client from scratch in python
[20:05:32] <fjon> that way you can connect with a password and have your irc session shared, even via the command line
[20:05:56] <fjon> try to brush up on complex concurrency and multi-threaded/multi-forked client/server model of processing connections
[20:09:54] <fjon> :)

Building RHEL/Fedora Kernels on ARM
by Gordan Bobic
Hi,
I'm trying to build a RHEL6 kernel from src.rpm on ARM and I think I
have it mostly sorted out, but it looks like the modules aren't getting
signed and since they weren't signed from <module>.ko.unsigned
<module>.ko the packaging part can't find the .ko files and the process
fails at the end.
I added the configs for arm (Kirkwood), modified Makefile.config, and
added a few minor changes to the spec file along with a few patches for
various breakages in the RHEL kernel caused by either broken or
incomplete patches applied there. I am also defining rhel to 1 so that
the debug and signing are used.
At the end of the build process I get this:
A few hundred instances of this:
<stdin>: Assembler messages:
<stdin>:3: Error: junk at end of line, first unrecognized character is `,'
Immediately followed by this bit that looks OK (I think):

This is then followed by a line like this for every module that should
be packaged:
cp: cannot stat `crypto/aes_generic.ko': No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `crypto/ansi_cprng.ko': No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `crypto/anubis.ko': No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `crypto/arc4.ko': No such file or directory
Reading through the spec file, the last thing that happens before
building the %{wigh_perftool} stuff is:
make -s ARCH=$Arch %{oldconfig_target} > /dev/null
make -s ARCH=$Arch V=1 %{?_smp_mflags} $MakeTarget %{?sparse_mflags}
if [ "$Arch" != "s390" -o "$Flavour" != "kdump" ]; then
make -s ARCH=$Arch V=1 %{?_smp_mflags} modules
%{?sparse_mflags} || exit 1
fi
Am I understanding this right?
Can anybody point me in the direction of where the problem might be WRT
why the modules aren't getting signed? From what I can figure out there
is no separate signing stage, it should all be done by "make modules",
but for some reason it isn't happening. :(

Meeting today - 3pm UTC (10am EST)
by Jon Masters
Hi everyone,
We have another weekly call in an hour from now. Here is an agenda of
topics I would like to discuss:
-1). Happy Holidays! Will anyone be around? :) I'm sorta around.
0). Update from Chris/Seneca on the results of the upgrades, etc. :)
- Can we make sure Dennis (or someone) get root-like access over the
holidays and able to poke at the build system. If Chris will be around,
etc. then cool. But let's figure out the holiday plan too.
1). Rawhide status
- More important than F15 release is hitting end of January
1). Package build status (Jared, Peter, etc.)
- What issues do we need to focus on?
2). Planning for FUDCon
- Who is going anyway?
- Raspberry Pi update
- Other plans?
3). Any other business
Next meeting will be January 5th unless anyone strongly objects.

Build Farm and Holidays
by Chris Tyler
Hi All--
Seneca is closed Dec 23-Jan 2, including the building which houses the
Fedora ARM build farm.
If you're building during the holidays and encounter issues with the
farm, please ping me via mail (this address) or IRC
(irc://ctyler@irc.freenode.net/fedora-arm) -- I've arranged for physical
access during the shutdown, and live just 5 minutes away, so I will
probably be popping in once or twice to reset hung builders. (I will
personally be offline Dec 24-26 but online from time to time though the
following week).
See you all on the call tomorrow (and if not -- have a great holiday and
a blessed Christmas!).

Meeting on Thursday - 3pm UTC (10am EST)
by Jon Masters
Hi everyone,
Last week, we had the first weekly status meeting. It seemed to go
fairly well and the time seemed to be convenient (at least presently).
Therefore, the next call will take place this coming Thursday. Please
reply to this email to add topics onto the following agenda:
0). Update from Chris/Seneca on results of Tue/Wed migration.
1). Package build status (Jared? Peter?)
- Jared and Jon reconciling scripts for reporting minimal deps
- Previously identified about 8 critical packages
- Plan is to get minimal+Xfce desktop for F15
2). Rawhide project status (Peter?)
- Presumably blocked on minimal buildroot deps still
3). Planning for FUDCon
- It is my intention to get a wiki page going before Thu.
4). Any other business?
I'm going to assume we can try having a meeting on the 22nd. If you know
that you're just not going to be around please let us know asap.

Builder Status
by Anthony Boccia
Hello All,
Just a quick update on the status of the build farm. Currently we have
18 HardFP builders up, and are working on having 20 by the end of day.
Currently most of our energy is being directed towards adding 15+
SoftFP builders by late afternoon.
