Dear Guillermo,
John's email mentions some of the main points on event sponsoring:
. if the request is given with enough time to plan
+ valid reasons for participating
+ reasonable budget forecast for your needs and other ambassadors'
(travel, accommodation, DVDs, banner, collateral)
Then you definitely stand a better chance of getting at least partial
sponsorhip.
I can be your point of contact in Latin America. Please let me know when
you have the information above ready for FLISOL.
Best,

As it reads in the documentation at Fedoras site, they will try to
cover all
the expenses if possible, but most of the time people will have to
incur in
expending their own cash (thing that wouldnt mind me if someone
helped
some
of it).
Im sure, if the request is given with time and valid resson detailing our
needs, expenses would be supported financially so far as FAMSCO or
whatever
the organization behind fedora can do.
It would be a dream for me to be in such places, but theres is enough work
to be done here in my country right now, and I would prefer to ask for
support (when the time comes), for local events (lugs, meetings, college
conferences, etc...) with CD/DVD reinbursement (<-- Wonder if its written
correctly xD too lazy to search for dictionary) support and swag, because
people needs to know there are options, that Linux, Fedora, and other
distros, are making it better in any sense than the monopoly, and Im
getting
better with linux each and every day.
>From all the past list logs, I see its feassible to attend such
events with
proper announcement, expenses detail and coordination :).
Wish I could go to FUDCON.
I wonder, if Fedora in any way can help for the ambassadors to easy the
papers (visa, etc..) for international travels. (somebody answer this
please)
P.D.
For showcasing in those special ocassions, im saving for a HP dual core 2
gig ram Geforce 7400 ;) Currently half the way of it, and wouldnt mind if
someone threw in some cash. xD I promise laptop´s photos doing Fedora at
work, Lugs, and conferences. Of course the use wont be exclusive Ill
use it
for work and university too (mainly -_-) xD.
