Subject: [Ambassadors] Centos - RedHat - Fedora
Hi,
I got the following emails from the Centos mailing list. I first checked
the calender for April 1st, but that is quite some time away.
---------- CUT ----------
With great excitement I'd like to announce that we are joining the Red
Hat family. The CentOS Project (
http://www.centos.org ) is joining
forces with Red Hat. Working as part of the Open Source and Standards
team (
http://community.redhat.com/ ) to foster rapid innovation
beyond the platform into the next generation of emerging technologies.
Working alongside the Fedora and RHEL ecosystems, we hope to further
expand on the community offerings by providing a platform that is
easily consumed, by other projects to promote their code while we
maintain the established base.
---------- CUT ----------
Can some one from Red Hat confirm and does that mean the CentOS and
Fedora Team will join even more closely than we already have.
Yes, this is true, you are not imagining things. :)
What it means for the relationship between the Fedora and CentOS communities is something
that I'm sure we'll explore in the coming months. As I said in my blog post -
there are many opportunities for collaboration.
I personally think it's pretty cool - and really, kind of overdue. :)

This will be an exiting 2014 :-)
Greetings
