We're bringing back Fedora Activity Day at SCaLE! My opinion is we have two routes we can go:
Traditionally, we expect a low technical curve. This means that a documentation project would be ideal. I'd like this to be something we can actually use and publish by the end of the day. I can setup a github repository for the collaboration point if we end up using something like Publican, otherwise this will likely be a wiki ordeal. For reference, in the past we tackled Google Summer of Code: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Summer_of_Code
The other option is we could allow for some technical chops and build something for the Ambassadors. One such idea would be to hack out a PHP+JS web application for events as a kiosk for people who are interested in becoming an ambassador (given the low attention span at an event, this may be better than telling them to google our wiki) or would like someone from our group to present at their college. As a bonus pony, we could build webcam integration so we can match a name to a face afterward. Hopefully there might be enough content and testing work for those who aren't web coders.
I'd like to push for the latter scenario, but would like to hear the thoughts from the group. Please let me know by end of week, so I can get it published with the SCaLE group.

I prefer the latter, but that's because I think the goal of a FAD is to accomplish something directly beneficial to the Fedora Project. Building an interface that could help us better interact with the community could be fun and useful at more and more conferences. I'm not so adept at php/js but I can help build the backend pieces and would actually prefer to do something in Python+JS. However, even at that, I'd be interested in hooking up webcams to systems and ensuring they work for whatever kind of interface we build.

If enough would rather do mod_python, I'm totally fine with that as well. That way we could utilize https://github.com/lmacken/photobooth.py for a backend. If we agree on the concept, we can handle the technical details along the way. If no one has any dissent, let's plan on this.
