Dear Ambassadors,
most of the Lovelock release parties are over. Now I'd like to collect some feedback on materials you used, especially the ones the Fedora Design Team produced. It would be great if some of you which held an event could answer the following questions:
* Which material did you use? (Posters, leaflets, business cards, CDs...)
* Did you create some of that things yourself? If so - why?
* Were there any things you wanted to use, but people at the event didn't like it?
* Did you miss anything? What in detail?
* Any ideas for material which you didn't miss, but think it might useful for your next event?
With your feed back I'm planning to work on the fedora design ticket [1] for a release party kit for the next version of Fedora.
Thanks in advance for your help! vinz

HI Vinz,
We have use at our release party a lot of swags, but mostly the people are looking for such material that helps, and brings Fedora closer to them. People loving one page sheets, including the release notes - because these pages can be used in multiple places/ways. (I could give and pin out too...) We have used a LOT, and also from the tri-fold flyers too (but a little bit that outdated now). But there was an problem, according to the sizes (lots of flyers design are in US metrics, not EU standard), this is why we have to create all the times (or pay extra at print shop for editing). That makes bit harder to print them quickly and cheaper.
I think, we need different "action" posters, where we could put out activities, and example icon from our suggestions. With this, we could fetch the correct material, not just the 4F slogan in parts. I mean we have show in big size that Fedora is much more versatile, and it has real features that the others don't. For graphics target part we already have awesome printable stuff, but I think we need similar for developing, and such more - to grab attention.
PS: Can we have at least an new ninja contest for new flyers, printed material designs?

I used F15 Release Poster with a lot of success http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/ambassadors/2011-June/017649.html
People loved fedora baloons, I want to get more of those!!
There was also fedora bubble stickers.
I have some shinny case badjes, those are really cool. People fight over them ;-)
- Did you create some of that things yourself? If so - why?
I made two things: One slide show with: 1) what is fedora? 2) What's new on Fedora15? 3) some resources. Because those things are borring as a talk, having them on a slide show in the entrance of the event helps. One video about gnome-shell with tips and trics. Because I can make many mistakes during the creation of the video and not show them to public. Heres is a link. (It is in spanish) http://blip.tv/yn1v/trucos-y-atajos-de-gnome-shell-en-fedora-15-5297797

I miss having a leaflet. I created one but turn old and some links were outdated. I did not had time to create a new one. I have to admit that this has local information. If there is a general leaflet, with a blank space for just a couple of links and emails for local contact, can be nice.
- Any ideas for material which you didn't miss, but think it might

A poster for Live USB creator stations.

Guys,
thanks for givin me feedback! I gathered your points and added them to the events ninjas task list: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Design/Events_Ninjas#Tasks
So if I forgot anything or ideas come up to your mind, don't hesitate on emailing me or putting it directly to the list. I'll pass all of it towards the design team during one of the next meetings.
Regards, vinz.
I'm answering a bit late, but you know... holidays.

We used pins, media (unfortunately F14 :/ ), posters, stickers.
- Did you create some of that things yourself? If so - why?
Yes, we printed posters and hade some of stickers done.
- Were there any things you wanted to use, but people at the event
didn't like it?
Not really.
- Did you miss anything? What in detail?
We really missed source files for release party posters. Our party took place on the same day Fedora 15 was released and posters had not been done by that time, so we didn't have any party posters, just general Fedora posters.

I gave away DVDs 10 or so cause launch parties seem to not work on my state to friends along with creating a live USB to them(supplied by them) so if they liked it they could pass it on, this time no material was used since no actual party was made
