"Flame on" :-)

Haven't made this assumption for one second. If I have given you (or anyone else in the project) this impression, then sincere apologies.

I have nothing but respect and admiration for the work the community (which is why I joined!)

>Joergs message was YOU SHOULD KNOW THE AMBASSADOR PROGRAMME before you try to chance it.

You might remember my original "question" was around measuring and metrics... the FACT is that those programs are held under the "outreach" and are presently INACTIVE. Joerg's suggestion was to join outreach. which I did.

He was also kind enough to reach out to me in IRC, which I appreciated.

Moreover: I am acting on a prompt from Matthew Miller to try to reactivate the program.

HOWEVER:

I see this email is going to ambassadors list? I emailed this to the outreach list only, so may I ask why are we emailing this to the ambassadors list? I certainly didn't include this list on my initial email. (who broke protocol first? hehe)

In any case: I'll gladly take the attention boost.

(Flame off)

I'll you are interested to collaborate on outreach and see what the fuzz is about:

And Sirko, any specific feedback, you may contact me off-list.

Regards,

CP

Hi,

No Joerg didnt write about xposting alone, he also strongly suggested you to read this pages

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_be_a_successful_contributor

And if you have done, you would get t a section called "Observation" and there you will find a line "don't assume you come with all of the answers or that the Fedora Project is doing it all wrong."

I always thought "Marketing people" get messages, Joergs message was YOU SHOULD KNOW THE AMBASSADOR PROGRAMME before you try to chance it.

Yes we have a Ambassador programme and it can be always improved definitely but to improve something I should know how it works first!

The list you using for your "outreach" idea was thought for FOSCo, an good idea as there are several contributrs not represented by FESCo or FAmSCo, its not about an new programme to replace or improve the Ambassador programme.

If you have suggestions according to that, do them on the Ambassador list!

For the help becoming Ambassador, we have this nice wiki pages guiding you through the process: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ambassadors_Join_start

I am indeed that guy, my name is Cesar. Nice to meet you Sirko.

The remarks from Joerg were referred to cross-posting on different email lists (AFAIK)

If you have specific suggestions those are welcome. I need to activate myself as an ambassador I guess? Can you help me with this?

Thanks.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

2 points from your note :

- agenda for kickoff : what have we have planned for session? Here is my suggested agenda.

* what is outreach? Define higher level goals for program.
* brainstorming : what are the top 10 prios we should focus on achieving?
* action + timeline : what 3 things we will focus on and by when.

I could prepare some slides to help set the stage.

- google hangouts,  why?

I like hangouts because we can save sessions in youtube and easy for people to follow monthly discussions.

Are you affected by issue of flash? Maybe you can join in an android mobile device?

Alternatively I could always setup my red hat bluejeans bridge? We can also record there and that sure works on RHEL CSB.

Do we count you in as a founding member of outreach 2.0? :)

Cheers

+1 to all of the above :)

A solid outreach program is for sure a key strategic initiative for
Fedora. It helps us showcase the wonderful community that is the Fedora
Project and brings in new contributors and users.

While I don't know what you have planned, exactly, for this kickoff -
using google hangout might bar some people from participating due to the
need for flash. I don't know if it's a huge deal, but it's something to
consider. Alternate methods of communications depends on how and what
information you want to showcase - so sorry for not providing an
alternative :(
