Wiki page for SoftwareFreedomDay updated
by Dominic Hopf
Hi everyone,
one of my remaining tasks from the last EMEA Ambassadors Meeting was to
create or update the wiki page for the SoftwareFreedomDay events this
year. This has been done now and can be found here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SoftwareFreedomDay
Please feel free to either improve that page or suggest me improvements
here and of course don't forget to add your local SoftwareFreedomDay
event there as well if you plan to organise one or maintain a Fedora
booth there. :)
Best Regards,
Dominic

FAmSCo goals for F18 cycle
by Buddhike Kurera
Hello Folks,
As discussed following would be my goals towards the F18 cycle.
My main goal would be improving the swag management/supply within APAC
region. Since countries with in APAC have conflicts with taxation my
goal is not establishing a central point where swags are produced and
distributed. But as much as possible I will be trying to come up with
a good plan with the help of FAm with in the region. Once established
this would help us to improve the quality of events with swags at the
right time. Before the term ends will come up with a solution which
increases the support towards FAm within the region in terms of swags
availability.
Beside I ll try my best to represent APAC FAms and their needs.
Supporting them and making them comfortable as far as possible. This
is not a quantitative goal but I would like to set it and see how much
I could reach/ satisfy their needed at the right time(when support is
needed).
Thanks !

JAX Community Night - might interest ARM, Java, and rich web developers
by Sarah White
Hi,
JAXConf is a conference focused on Java and rich web development.
During the conference they will be hosting a free community night on
Monday, July 9, 2012 that will include a reception, keynote, and
several sessions. The event will be held at the Mission Bay
Convention Center at UCSF in San Francisco, CA. Doors open at 5:45 PM.
One of the open sessions that may be of particular interest to the
Fedora Community is Simon Maple's live demo session of a Raspberry Pi
running Debian Linux, Java and WebSphere App Server. I'll see if I
can get him to try out F17 with AS 7 the next time he wants to test
the Pi:)
For much more information check out the Fedora JAX wiki page [1] or
the JAXConf Community Night registration page [2].
Note: Community Night registration is free but spaces are limited!
Cheers,
Sarah
