Fedora 17 Release Party - Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Dear All, As we know, Fedora 17 is available for initial Public test,[0] thanks to Dennis for the announcement; we from Bangladesh want to plan our release party with plenty of time in hand to make it a successful event. In fact it's a initiative from Rejaul[2] and Kingheart[3]; they both separately pinged me and later I discussed with imtiaz[4] bhai. All four of us agreed to arrange a medium sized event. First I opted for an event outside of the Capital city, but Kingheart insisted to arrange this big one in Dhaka and later we can have an extended version in Chittagong and Khulna (the other cities of Bangladesh). I'm initiating this thread for all other Bangladeshi Ambassadors and User to discuss Date, Venue and other issues of the event. For the time being Rejaul enlisted our event in Fedora wiki.[1] A tentative date, venue is written in the wiki as a placeholder along with a possible activities. Let us discuss more to make these more convenient. If you are an Ambassador in North America, and you have any substantial quantity of swag or media, PLEASE, for the love of pi day, put your information in these tickets: Media ticket: http://fedorahosted.org/famna/ticket/30 Swag ticket: http://fedorahosted.org/famna/ticket/29 Seriously: We have a ton of events coming up before F17 is out, and what seems to be a serious lack of media, and an unknown quantity of swag, aside from stickers. This is making planning difficult. You don't have to count one by one, but if you can make a rough guess and put it in the ticket VERY SOON, that would be super awesome, so that we can figure out how to plan accordingly for these various events. Incidentally: FAMNA meetings are back to a weekly thing, if you haven't been paying attention, and we have a handful of awesome new folks stepping up to wrangle events, and meetings seem to have a pulse again, which is awesome! We're practically on the edge of the summer conference season already, so if you have an interest in owning an event as an Ambassador, please attend a meeting and speak up. Grazer Linuxtage 2012

My fellow ambassadors, as you might know Grazer Linuxtage are taking place on April 28th but we still have nobody to represent Fedora. Fedora used to be there in the last years and the organizers of the event have already announced us again for this year, so it would be very bad to disappoint them and the visitors. We surely can sent somebody over to Austria. Dominic already volunteered but he lives in Hamburg which is quite a distance. I would prefer some local folks, this means from Austria, Czech, Switzerland or southern Germany. Everything else will be expensive and hard to justify for a single-day event. If you are able to help or know somebody from our community who is, please drop me a mail - even if that other person is not an ambassador.
