Re: [Ambassadors] ambassadors Digest, Vol 94, Issue 16
by xm4nfedoralinux .
SUBJECT: Re: Contents of ambassadors digest...
Just to correct ill-informed minds, I was never an ambassador in the first
place. So we can happily dispose of the statement from whoever stated it.
Just like one of our friends has pointed out, the last picture on the bottom
of the flyer with the dude on the far right with the thumb and pinky finger
extended outwards does NOT represent O.G. or Original Gangster. I am not
sure in other cultures/countries, but here in the good 'ole USA, that
picture does NOT show any signs of O.G. It means good luck and ride high and
good waves!! So lets drop this issue and move on. Probably a more productive
way to address this in the first place would be to first advise the
marketing team, instead of the whole mailing list.....I'm just saying my 2
cents :)

Re: [Ambassadors] ambassadors Digest, Vol 94, Issue 12
by xm4nfedoralinux .
In regards to message 7 and onwards, listen, who cares about what the
meanings of the page on release notes are. Its just plain marketing and
these discussions are too political. There is no way to be that neutral and
try not to offend everyone. This is an international distro and who cares
about what the photos mean or words mean. it just plain fun to see the
advertising page and when I looked at it, I dont see anything wrong with it.
So please, enough of the political interpretations and lets just move
forward to the real topics at hand, by the way, I was in a gang and none of
these things are ever remotely associated with O.G., ok? I know what ganstas
are so please this release page DOES NOT have any associations of it!!

REPORT - Open Fest 2010
by Pierros Papadeas
Hello my fellow Ambassadors!
Last weekend we had a nice event here in Athens [1] and Fedora was
there with a great Booth and many people :)
Needless to say, we had the best booth and presence as a community
there and we attracted many newcomers especially with our Translation
Marathon for Fedora 13 during the event.
On the wiki page [2] you can find some blogposts-reports on the event
and this [3] nice gallery of photos from our presence there.
We had a dual-projector setup with many swag (mostly produced by us)
and some nice little ideas (like "Try me!" signs)
Many thanks to all the Greek fellows, that helped the Fedora be on its
best one more time :)
Next target for Fedora Greek Community is FossComm 2010 [4] (we
started organizing already [5]) which is the biggest foss event in
Greece and we are more than sure that it's going to be a fabulous
appearance of Fedora there with many new persons helping out.

Information Request - Fedora 12 media
by Nelson Marques
Hi,
I got a strange email from someone in Portugal asking if it was
possible to send him a F12 install DVD. I am not in possession of media.
I can easily burn a image and send him, but anyway, if someone wants to
send him Fedora official media, I can share the address.
How should I respond in this cases ?
Best Regards,
Nelson

Resigning as Ambassador
by Marcus Moeller
Hi all,
I am sorry to say that I am going to resign as Ambassador for Fedora.
I tried to do my best with FUDCon planning for Zurich but the whole
process was so frustrating that I am not willed to put any more effort
into it.
What happend will be discussed in FAMSCO next monday, where I am going
to attend as well.
I am not sure if I can remove, so would be glad if one could do that for me.
Best Regards
Marcus

Dear Susmit.

Not sure if I know you personally, so please calm down a bit.
This has been discussed with Kital already and raised for the next
FAmSCo meeting.
Discussion happened on the fudcon/planning list and in real life (yes
there is one)
Best Regards
Marcus

Dear Sascha.
> do I correctly understand you, that you do not want to be an
> ambassador anymore because there will not be a FUDCon in Zurich?
The FUDCon location process simply stucked. Max did not even reply to
my mails, nor on the planning list.
A lot of promises have been made (e.g. on FAD last year, at FOSDEM),
which has not been fulfilled. You may also want to talk to Sandro
concerning that.
> Is this decision made from you by passion or by clear mind?
Yes, my mind is totatlly clear :)
Best Regards
