Fedora Activity Day - SCaLE
by Scott Williams
We're coming to a point where we need to make a final decision about Fedora
Activity Day at SCaLE this year. I have two suggestions:
*We do something in the area of KDE integration. Kevin and Rex might be
able to give us some ideas here. I haven asked them, but haven't heard back
yet.
*We help out LibreOffice. LibreOffice has an extra advantage in this fight
as they have a list of "easy" things that need to be done:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Easy_Hacks and http://tinyurl.com/38juotz
If you have an opinion in this or another suggestion, please reply and let
me know.

Self introduction
by Vinzenz Vietzke
Hi,
thanks for the welcome to Joerg!
As this is my first post I'd like to introduced myself to you:
My name is Vinzenz Vietzke, I'm 26 years old and live in Augsburg,
southern Germany. I am working as educator/pre-school teacher.
My first (unsatisfying) contact with Linux was in 1999 with Suse 6.0.
Since 2006 I'm using Linux as preferred operating system, starting with
the unavoidable Ubuntu. Moving to Debian a lot of distributions
followed, ending up and staying for a long time at Archlinux.
Since mid-2010 I am "fedoraised" and now want to involve myself into the
project.
I've been working on various Linux and open source projects, especially
on maintaining packages for Archlinux, translating Debian packages and a
lot of different tool on Launchpad. [1]
As I'm a pre-school teacher my abilities in conversation, explaining and
training would be useful - not least for grown ups. :)

Hopefully you got something like a approximate idea of me and my
efforts. If there are any questions, don't hesitate to ask me!
Best regards,

Active Ambassadors Over Inactive Am.
by Buddhike Kurera
Dear All,
According to the
http://susmit.fedorapeople.org/report/famsco_final_report/#id2781437
<http://susmit.fedorapeople.org/report/famsco_final_report/#id2781437>There
are around 700 Am. worldwide and around 183 events in 2010.
I think each ambassador should have a responsibility of having at-least one
event for an year that ensure spreading fedora in the community.
And as in 2009 it is good to evaluate Am. (based on region) on yearly basis
and ensure all the Am. work well.
Having a large list mean nothing we need people who work to achieve goals.
I noticed some Am. dont event updated their user-page with their contacts,
and
some dnt have contact details.
So i think this need to ensure the quality of the Am.
What you all think?
BTW wish all the elected Am. good luck on their future work :).

Self Introduction
by Tian Shixiong
Hello guys,
I am very glad to be approved to this mailing list. My name is
Tian shixiong. I am from China. I chose APAC ambassador Caius 'kaio'
Chance as my mentor.
I started to using Fedora Linux since 2005, that was Fedora Core
4. I don't know much about programming or system administration. But I
found myself could do some translation. So I began to contribute
Fedora as a translator in Simplified Chinese team from 2008.
I would like to introduce and help more Chinese Linux lovers to
join Fedora Project, especially to L10n project. Cause I am familiar
with L10n more compared to the other projects. Also I would like to
collaborate with other Chinese ambassadors to make Fedora more popular
in China.
But first of all, I should be an ambassador.
Thank you :)
Cheers

a late report about Barcamp in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
by Neville A. Cross
I left home on my birth day to attend this event in the neighbor
country of Honduras. I enjoyed the company of my wife in this journey.
I have the pleasure of joining forces with Jose Lopez from El
Salvador, who did the same ... but it was not his birth day and he did
not have the company of his fiance :P
I got stuck in San Pedro Sula, and the air line "forced" me to sleep
in a five star hotel including dinner, breakfast, transport and a
bonus (actually two... one for my wife and other for me). What a
"torture"!! ... Jose traveled by bus ... no niceties for him :(
I have been dealing with a lot of pending work at my job on my return,
but finally made the time to write some of the events of the journey.
It was also thanks giving, although it is not celebrated over here, I
have to thanks to Jose for his photos.
The post ... http://www.taygon.com/?p=444
The photos ... http://picasaweb.google.com/magjogui/FedoraUnitecBarcampV402010#
<= probably more entertaining than my writing ;)
Best regards!!
