As many of you know, I was a main organizer of Flisol Caracas this
year, and also worked with the local Fedora Team on their
The Flisol had an estimated attendance of 1700 people, including 100
installers, 15 protocol and 15 sponsors. We had a hard day with 8
conferences and 12 workshops; as well as the first National tournament
of UrbanTerror (a freeware game) and a gpg key sign fest. At the
closing, we had the StarWars Club (Darth Vader and one StormTrooper)
playing around with the guys.
Fedora Venezuela installed a lot of machines and gave out 300
LiveDVDs, 50 bubble stickers and 50 vinyl stickers; and the users were
really happy with this. Pablo Hernandez (paceh) gave a workshop about
Fedora-USB installations and I gave a Conference about the Fedora
Community in Venezuela, and found a lot of new users.
I also want to say that we had two major interviews, one on national
radio and another on national tv (globovision) and in both of them,
Fedora was the centre of attention. This is really good...
Next year I'll be the National Organizer and I hope to set up the
first Fedora Venezuela General Meeting with all the fedora users in
the country. In the mean time, we'll have some workshops at several
universities, some stands at national conferences (3 stands) and a
special "B-day" for our community.
These are some of the photos... but I'm still waiting for more, and
the video of the TV appearance.

Well, I'm a new Ambassador. I'm glad I finally decided to become one
and I hope I can do much for the community in my region.
Speaking of which, IMHO, México's community is weak regarding inner
collaboration. I've reviewed the list and saw many collaborators (not
as many as I would like) in México.
This is an attempt to bring unity to us. Juan Rodríguez and Me have
set up a facebook website called "Fedora México", which is an
extension of Juan's website: http://proyectofedora.org/mexico/
The sole intention is to bring, the mexican community, closer and to
be able to collaborate among us to make people more aware of Fedora.
Please, we're open to any kind of criticism/suggestion. Feel free to
reply and speak your mind!
It's hard to be free... but I love to struggle!

Have any of you been inquired by your people about the Fedora 11 Preview now available for download? :)
The reason for my question is because I am currently distributing F9 and F10 media and I was "wondering" whether others have tried out and/or been asked about the upcoming version of Fedora. :)
I currently have downloaded and installed Fedora 11 and the experience is quite nice. Of interest to me is the iBus (Intelligent Input Bus) input method system http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/IBus to replace SCIM. :)
I have been referencing my people and using the information from the "F11 Talking Points"
as part of my presentation information. :)
Any thoughts and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated. :v)
Lastly, please have a great day and/or evening! :~)
