Fantastic, an experienced writer! Very happy to have you aboard, Kam.

Looks like you'll have no problem learning several toolsets, then.
I'm sure you've already read from the introductory "join" information,
but you can find us on IRC at irc.freenode.net, #fedora-docs. We'd
love to talk to you there and get you engaged in some beneficial work.

That's marvelous! I love speaking in front of groups teaching skills
like DocBook. We are supposed to have a FUDCon event this winter,
probably happening in January in Boston. Do you think you might be
able to attend?

And that is, by far, the most important qualification. We can teach
people practically anything except willingness to be a part of FOSS.
Once you have that, everything else is just a short learning
experience away! :-)
Thanks for getting involved Kam, I look forward to talking to you on
IRC at some point.

filipino mailing list
by Heherson Pagcaliwagan
Guys,
We're generating some interest in Fedora in the Philippines and I'm thinking
that a mailing list for Filipino users/contributors would be a great way to
spur on a community. I'm now fielding emails from our previous attendees and
I think it's going to be more beneficial if a whole community would answer
them.
I'm steering clear of a yahoo/google group for "official" reasons.
I tried looking for some guidelines on the wiki on how to start one and I
can't find any. Can somebody give me some pointers?

Heherson Pagcaliwagan

F10 Release Party in Milan - Budget Preview
by Gianluca Varisco
Hi guys,
I'm here to announce that we (Italian Fedora Ambassadors) will held the
next release party (celebrating Fedora 10) somewhere in Milan (Italy).
As Francesco Ugolini asked two weeks ago, we will completely follow the
official 'disclaimer' posted here [1], searching for a free place and
trying to limit as much as we can all the expenses.
But.. (no, don't worry! ;-) ) I'd like to ask a little more budget
(let's say a bit more than the 100$ received the previous year):
150-200$ would be enough to pay for snacks, drinks and some
stickers/posters/brochures.
We will distribute F9 / F10 Beta Live ISOs asking attendees for their
USB Cards and burning some CD/DVDs.
Let me know if you need further details in order to assign budget to
this event.
Many thanks.
Best Regards,

Hi Kam,
Welcome.
A couple of things I'll mention:
The North American Ambassadors meet on Tuesday nights at 9pm EDT in
#fedora-meeting on irc.freenode.net. At other times many of us hang
out on #fedora-ambassador and #fedora-mktg
You may also want to take a look at some of the NA specific pages in
particular:
Add your name to this page: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ambassadors/NA/Regions
Check out the expectations here:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ambassadors/NorthAmerica/Expectations
There is an event in your state in the not too distant future -
Central Pennsylvania Open Source Conference on October 19th. I know
it's a bit away from Philly, but there are a number of people
attending, and you may want to check it out.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraEvents/CPOSC/2008
Yaakov Nemoy is heading it up, so you may want to ping him about it.
If there is something you need from us to get moving, please don't
hesitate to ask.
Thanks,
David Nalley
