Express Fedora installation
by Danishka Navin
Hi Guys,
As we all know now we have set of customized Fedora spins.
I want to convert my F9-si-iso image as a Silent/ Express Fedora
installation media.
What we can find in the RHEL exams, the CD start installing the stuff it
includes without asking any information.
We don't want to teach much to technical buddies @ computer shops, they can
just use the CD/DVD.
Do we have any existing scripts for this work?
Hope you people will help me. :)
I'm planning to create a Express Fedora 9 installation CD/DVD and giving to
few vendors,
as the Sri Lankan LAW is working against the pirated SW.
I hope we can use this as a better solution to fight with pre-installed
WINDOZ and better distribution for Fedora.
Regards,

Fedora at the library
by Karlie Robinson
Hello all.
I've got a little pet project over at
http://publicsoftwarefoundation.org and the goal is to get FLOSS on the
shelves of libraries so that software can be checked out like a book.
Well we had a write up [1] that netted a $500 donation and I would like
to ask that you help me put the money to good use.
If you know of any libraries that would like a copy of Fedora or our
other PSF titles for their patrons to use, please let me know. You can
email me off list or you can post a request to the PSF Forums [2] under
Library Requests.
Thanks for all your help,
Karlie

F9 at Bluepoint Summer Geek Camp

Hi,
This is a bit late, but it may still be of interest to some folks.
Bluepoint Foundation and the Bluepoint Linux Users Elite (BLUE) conducted
the first Summer Geek Camp (http://geekcamp.bluepoint.com.ph/) in Tagaytay
and Batangas, Philippines a few days before F9 was released. One of the
highlights of the camp was a preview of Sulphur, which proved to be
pretty exciting for the delegates - everyone was looking forward to the
release after learning about Fedora's new features. :)
The camp was facilitated by PH Fedora Ambassadors Magie Antonio, Heherson
Pagcaliwagan, and yours truly. ;)
Regards,
Engels

Bangladesh Fedora 9 Release Party : Report
by mak
Dear all,
We (Bangladesh) had our "Fedora Release Party", it was a great evening.
Yesterday more than 50 Fedora lovers joined the party. We had Imtiaz
Rahi<http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/ImtiazRahi?highlight=%28imtiaz%29%7C%28rahi%29>the
first Bangladesh Fedora Ambassador within us, he conveyed the "Fedora
Community talk", it was so inspiring that all of attendee liked to join
Fedora project. After that Zaher a student from BUET
<http://www.buet.ac.bd/>showed the new features of F9. He had to answer a
lot of questions regarding new features and about old bugs, thanks to Imtiaz
Rahi for helping him answering those geeky questions.
It was hot, so we had to have those drinks in midst of the party, anyway
thanks to "our sponsor" "SweetHome" who gave us all the support.
iso-to-USB-key creation station was too busy, we are sorry that we couldn't
do all the USBs given to us.
And of course, we've distributed free 100 Fedora 9 DVD, thanks to Jamil
Ahmed<http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/JamilAhmed?highlight=%28Ahmed%29%7C%28Jamil%29>he
downloaded F9 and burnt all the DVDs.
No one noticed the blurry settings of the camera and all pictures were bit
dark. I'm going to upload those on Flickr anyway.
At the end of the party everybody agreed to form "Fedora
Bangladesh<http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/FedoraBD/>"
group and opened a Yahoogroups<http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/FedoraBD/>,
Gulam Mustafa was appointed as the moderator. This is the part that
community itself ruled over.

Booth @ LT2008 - What do we need?
by Christoph Wickert
Is there anything left we need for the booth at Linux Tag 2008?
I could offer
* a small fanless 8 Port Gigabit Switch or
* a compact 26 Port Netgear Gigabit/Fast Ethernet Switch.
Choose one and I will donate it to the Event Box after Linuxtag.
Do wee need more ethernet cables and stuff?
Christoph
P.S.: I think we should set up a Wiki page for this.
