about myself
by Arun Kumar
hello everyone.... i recently joined fedora ambassador's group and
updated my profile too....
let me introduce myself...
my name is Arun Kumar a final yr Computer Engg. student. i got selcted
in TCS and they hav offered me the job of computer
consultancy(assistant system engg.).....
i like fedora very much ... infact i hav just almost given up using
windows.... i joined fedora ambassador group coz i wanna tell ppl how
good fedora is ....
but everytime when i asked ppl that hav they ever tried fedora than
most of them replies yes they do but they are always in doubt abt
fedora....
the major one is abt playing mp3...
and the other one is abt they can't able to connect internet through fedora...
i know there must be some problem with their network settings but as
we all know if ppl get something, doesn't matter whether it's free or
not...they want it to work perfectly... they want everthing to be
settled down by itself...and according to me this is still amongst the
major problem that's y ppl are still not using fedora in myriad
number(in comparison to windows).....
so i hav decided that i m going to tell ppl abt the solutions of these
problems too....
wud love to hear from all of u too .....
regards
Arun Kumar

Hi folks,
due to several personal reasons and the never ending possible conflict
between beeing fedora ambassador and beeing webmaster of fedora-blog.de
I've decided to resign my position as ambassador.
BTW: Can anyone remove fedora-blog.de from fedora people?
Regards and goodbye
Heiko

Information about multimedia-support in Fedora
by Bart De Soete
Hi folks,
My next goal for februay-march 2007 is to 1) convince the migration of
Fedora in a school (music school) and 2) the migration itself.
They are thinking about switching from Windows to Linux: Fedora or Ubuntu.
Network, file/print/intranet-servers, clients, e.g. are no problem for me to
give proper information about their functionality in Fedora.
However, because I'm dealing with a music school here: the
music/multimedia-part (mostly for the clients, not for servers) are very
important.
Streaming media (windows/linux-compatible) en music-formats are
indispensable, but I don't know exactly how far mp3- and other
multimedia-playing is integrated in Fedora, current Core. Can someone help
me out here?
Regards,

Fedora-Blog.de part II

Hi Chitlesh,
what I wrote at that posting is in my eyes a combination of facts and
*my* personal opinion.
About your "critics" at the end of your mail:
I can only say that
- - At http://www.fedora-blog.de/index.php/c39cber_fedora-blogde the last
sentence says that my blog is not affiliated to my activity as
ambassador for the fedora project.
- - At http://www.fedora-blog.de/index.php/no_bashing/ I've tried to make
clear that I'm against linux distribution bashing.
Any suggestion what I should do to make clear that my blog and beeing
ambassador are two different parts of my live?
Regards,
Heiko

Fedora-blog.de
by Chitlesh GOORAH
Hello there,
Mind you, I'm not fighting with the author of
http://www.markshuttleworth.com/archives/77#comment-32151
I quote
---------------------------------------------------------------------
# Fedora-Blog.de » Blog Archive » ??? Says:
January 17th, 2007 at 5:16 pm
[…] Mark Shuttleworth, seines Zeichens Gründer des populären Ubuntu
Linux, schreibt in seinem Blog folgendes über Red Hat und Novel: …
We've already seen that with Red Hat and Novell, which essentially
offer free software on proprietary terms - their "really free"
editions are not certified, carry no support and receive no systematic
security patching. In other words - they're beta or test versions. …
[…]
---------------------------------------------------------------------
But, I only think using "fedora" name on a "never ending fight between
distros" thread isn't appropriate, not good for fedora marketing. At
the same time, it isn't up to the standard of a Fedora Ambassador!
Especially on delicate matters.
Thereby, I'm requesting you, Heiko Adams, that in the future, please
use your real name or a nickname to express YOUR feelings or ideas.
Because, they aren't fedora's! (neither the message of Fedora nor that
of its contributors.)
I support what GregDekoenigsberg said in
http://gregdek.livejournal.com/8978.html
I quote:
------------------
""But leave the FUD at the door, dude. ""
------------------
Yes, Leave the "Fedora" brand away from lame discussions which might
tarnish our work and our community.
Thanks,
Chitlesh GOORAH
