Plus, generic IDs like FT232 and Arduino might be used for things
other than 3D printers, but there's no way to know what's on the other
side of the hardware. Opening these up to users "in general" would be
a security policy change - you'd want it for single-user desktops but
not for servers. Maybe a meta-package that has the security policy
that all the other printer driver packages (like pronterface) depend
on? So by installing (for example) pronterface, you get access to
/dev/ttyACM0 as well.
That was what I tried to achieve with 3dprinter-udev-rules package.
Also, the $subject seems to be lacking spaces:

I put them back in to see if they get removed again...
