Packaging modern version of Cura for Fedora 26

Hi. Several people asked me to update Cura to more recent version (2.3.x). Cura went with a (complete?) rewrite, change of technologies and dependencies quite some time ago. Debian is already packaging the new version [0]. Because of update policies and Python 3 protobuf bindings needed, I'm talking only about Fedora 26 here. Dependencies roadmap is described on Etherpad [1]. I don't have much time, so I'm not sure if I can make it alone til Fedora 26. I would appreciate some help. All you need to do is to put your FAS username to the list of dependencies and then try to package that thing and report back here on the mailing list or/and in the Etherpad. Thanks for any help. Missing save on Cura

Running on F25, I installed cura. (15.04.4-5.fc25) (I have tried slic3r and haven't figured out how to tune it to get usable gcode.) (And I can't figure out skeinforge.) On cura, the button the docs tell me is the 'save' button' doesn't have an icon and isn't clickable. And the 'Save Gcode' menu item doesn't appear to do anything either. What am I missing ?
