I've added the inetUser object class to the nsdefaultobjectclass the the cn=user.
However when I add a new user the user does not have inetUser object class. Any idea?

I have already looked at this and the configuration looks proper.. That is why I posted the search results to start. , To show this is what I've already done.. I have restarted the directory server also.

- From what you posted, the dn of your object is
cn=user+nsdefaultobjectclass=inetorgperson, ... ,o=NetscapeRoot
As I read the howto, the dn should just be cn=user, ... ,o=NetscapeRoot
